CU planning to build new office space
ITHACA — Cornell University plans to build a 60,000
square-foot, three-story office building at 391 Pine Tree Road
in the Town of Ithaca, according to a press release from
developers Wednesday.
To be located on Cornell-owned land behind East Hill Plaza
and the Cornell Institute for Social & Economic Research, the
building would replace abandoned animal barns currently on the
site. The project will go before the Town of Ithaca Planning and
Development Board on Sept. 20 for sketch plan review.
Cornell Press Office Director Simeon Moss said no additional
hiring of employees is expected in conjunction with the new
building, but rather, the office would house existing workers
from other departments.
